It will become the norm in a few years. You’ll go shopping in the supermarket but the desired items in your shopping bag. You’ll walk straight out of the exit and off to the next appointment. Anything missing here? Any ideas? That’s right – paying at the checkout. It’s now fine to pace through the exit. In the future, paying will be a minor matter sorted out automatically by radio scanning. Modern technology, such as RFID and NFC make this possible.
RFID and NFC are modern, convenient, and an invitation for data thieves
However, it seems as though they push the safety of your personal information to the background. The risk is more relevant than ever. It has never been easier to come across personal data. With RFID and NFC, it is possible to steal card numbers and personal data, even at a distance. All that is needed is a mobile scanner and a stroll through the shopping center. The scanner only needs to be held close to the handbag or trouser pocket for a second for the data thief to get all of the information needed to go shopping at your expense, for example.
- First and last name
- Card numbers (Credit cards, EC cards…)
- Biometric information on your passport (birthday, nationality…)
- Health data (Health insurance card, citizen’s cards…)
RFID NFC blocker cards a possible solution to protect your data
RFID NFC blocker cards are a great solution to impede and, in most cases, completely prevent unnoticed reading and theft of your personal data. The mechanism is completely different to that of the known method used with RFID protective cover, which builds a Faraday cage around the NFC-enabled card. The electronics installed in the RFID NFC blocker card immediately generates a strong electromagnetic interfering signal upon contact with an RFID scanner. The advanced electronics in the RFID NFC blocker card use or “harvest” the RFID scanner’s energy to build the interfering signal – the benefit of this is that the strength of the interfering signal automatically adapts to the power input – the stronger the scanning signal, the stronger the interfering signal.
The radio interference technology used here comes from military application and is now appropriately used to protect personal data. The interference signal reliably protects against data scanning at 13.56 MHz (standard frequency for micropayment) and has an effective radius of up to 2.5 cm. This means that it is mostly sufficient to use one RFID NFC blocker card per wallet / wallet / card case – provided the cards are on top of each other. If the NFC-compatible cards are shifted one on top of the other, it is advisable to use TWO RFID NFC blocker cards – one as the first card and the second as the last card.
- ✅ DEKRA TESTED
Blocker card with interference signal tested by an independent institute for the commercially used frequency 13.56 MHz. All your cards are protected against unauthorised reading of the stored data or information. - ✅ EXTRA THIN FOR EVERY WALLET
The card is only 0.8 mm thin and fits in any wallet. No other RFID protection card is thinner. Place the NFC Blocker card in your wallet with your other cards for optimal RFID protection. - ✅ NO MORE INDIVIDUAL SLEEVES
You’ll never have to put all your individual cards in separate sleeves again. Credit cards wrapped in aluminium foil are now a thing of the past. Your entire wallet gets NFC protection. - ✅ SCRATCH-RESISTANT SURFACE
