POCKET PF5 METER is a compact LF measuring device for the quick and easy detection of electrosmog through low-frequency alternating electrical fields and magnetic fields. The high detection radius of 15 – 50.000 Hz makes it unique. Ideal for beginners!
The Pocket PF5 Meter is an easy to use electrosmog meter for the low frequency (LF) range. It is reliable and facilitates the detection of alternating magnetic and alternating electric fields. It is a valuable tool for detecting a restful sleeping place.
The frequency range of the Pocket PF5 Meter extends from 15 Hz to 50.000 Hz (50 kHz). The measuring range for alternating electric fields is from 10 to 200 V/M (volts per meter). The measuring range for alternating magnetic fields ranges from 0,02 to 2,00 µT (microtesla) or building biology correct, from 20 to 2.000 nT (nanotesla).
Pocket PF5 Meter, an ingenious detector of electrosmog LF
Due to the very wide frequency range of 15 to 50.000 Hz, the PF5 captures the entire AF spectrum, starting with the low-lying traction current frequencies at 16,7 Hz, through the household 50 Hz of the mains power supply, to the problematic harmonics of switching power supplies and ballasts of LED lamps or energy-saving lamps. Interesting detail from practice: The measuring instrument is officially specified with a frequency range only starting from 20 Hz, but also reliably records the traction current frequency of 16,7 Hz. Building biologists have tested this themselves and compared it with high-priced professional devices.
Due to constant new developments in the industry, such as induction stoves, wireless chargers, lamps with permanently installed electronics, etc., the range of applications for this LF meter is increasing every day. An ideal device for all those who prefer to measure themselves rather than rely on the statements of manufacturers and operators. Or do you know how strong and how far the high-voltage line in the neighboring street really radiates or where exactly the electrical lines in your apartment are laid? It usually starts in the small things that you don’t think about, like the clock radio on the bedside table and its strong EM fields. Is the Euro flat plug “the right way round” in the socket or do I expose myself to unnecessarily high electrical fields just because the switch integrated in the electrical line only switches in single phase?
Every household and office contains hidden sources of everyday radiation. The Pocket PF5 meter provides information!
Electrosmog LF measurement in a new dimension and new price class
Due to the simple “one-button operation” and the fact that this device measures potential-free, i.e. it does not have to be grounded, it is suitable for beginners without restrictions. Numerous LF devices always measure the electric field against ground potential. This is a big problem, because first the quality of the earth must be determined. Also, with potential-connected devices alone, no statement can be made about the effectiveness of shielding (since they are connected to the same potential as the shielding). The display then logically stays at zero, even if in reality there is a clear remaining field. A check must therefore always be carried out potential-free over 3 axes. As a supplementary measurement, a ground potential connected measurement or body coupling measurement is very interesting.
The PF5 is operated with a conventional 9 Volt block battery and is immediately ready for use. The field probes (LF antennas) are built into the device, so that it gets along absolutely without protruding parts. With its tiny dimensions, hardly bigger than a cigarette box, it can easily be carried in your pocket to be with you all the time – especially on vacation or in the professional field service in a hotel room (as an example).
The Pocket PF5 Meter reliably detects the existing fields and displays them via a colored 8-step LED bar, in the units Tesla, or one millionth of it, µT (microtesla) and V/m (volts per meter), which are common in Germany. The lower 2 LEDs are still green, since one does not assume any danger at this strength. Then the “yellow” range starts already at 0,1 µT or 20 V/m, since these fields already influence biological systems. The building biology already speaks of a strong conspicuousness here. From 0,4 µT, or 60 V/m red LEDs already indicate a strong load. From a building biology point of view, we already have it now with an extreme conspicuousness that demands immediate reduction.
The WHO classifies magnetic alternating fields from 0,3 – 0,4 µT as potentially carcinogenic! Studies have attributed oxidative stress, the formation of free radicals and a reduction in melatonin levels to alternating electric fields as low as 20 V/m.

Who the Pocket PF5 Meter is suitable for and why we chose it!
Simply ideal for the beginner or for each interested person, who would like to measure simply only times which equipment radiates how strongly. Do you want to know the exposure to low-frequency electrosmog in your home or the strength of exposure from a high-voltage power line or the railroad track next door? Then this small Pocket RF Meter may be worth a closer look. An ideal device for quick and informative control measurements.
Our focus with the Pocket PF Meter is not the professional sector. The market offers a wide range of reliable measurement devices for measurement technicians and building biologists and almost all of them are priced at or above €1.000. We were mainly looking for a simple measuring device with which our customers can check the quality and performance of shielding measures themselves. Trust is good and important, of course. Nevertheless, we recommend that anyone who wants to invest valuable Euros in shielding materials should check the results themselves.
The Pocket PF5 Meter can be a good tool for this.
