PSA is an ideal pressure sensitive adhesive for the aluminum-laminated side of our SAFEBUILD shielding materials, perfect for strong, vapor-permeable bonds, designed for experienced professionals.
The PSA pressure sensitive adhesive is a water-based, low-emission acrylic adhesive formulated to create permanently self-adhesive layers. Due to its immediate high adhesive strength upon application, PSA should ideally be applied after a test bonding or by an experienced professional.
With an sd-value of 0,02 m, the PSA pressure sensitive adhesive is highly permeable to water vapor, making it ideal for vapor-permeable bonds on walls, ceilings, and floors. Specifically developed for our SAFEBUILD® products, it addresses the difficulty most traditional adhesives and wallpaper pastes face when bonding to aluminum layers. PSA is also suitable for other products in our shielding materials range.
The PSA pressure sensitive adhesive is electrically insulating = non-conductive!
Application of PSA pressure sensitive adhesive
PSA can be applied easily with a paint roller, similar to wall paint. The thicker the layer, the stronger the adhesive power. For wet bonding, work quickly and in small sections to allow for adjustments. With dry bonding, the adhesive forms an immediate strong bond that cannot be adjusted. For smooth and even application on wet or dry adhesive layers, a squeegee, such as our FVR10 model, is ideal.
Our SAFEBUILD® shielding materials with an aluminum layer are difficult to bond on the aluminum side; traditional wallpaper adhesives do not adhere here. PSA, however, combines high initial tack and permanent adhesion, allowing materials to adhere well even on the moist adhesive. If any edges or corners lift during drying, they can be easily pressed back down with the squeegee, thanks to the permanent adhesion.
The paint roller should NEVER be washed out! For storage, wrap it airtight in plastic wrap; after completing the work, let it dry and dispose of it properly.
