Magnetic shielding film MCF5 is a shielding film made of an amorphous cobalt alloy. High shielding effectiveness against magnetic fields of 30 dB (97 % efficiency), with two layers even 41 dB. In addition, high shielding effectiveness against RF radiation of up to 70 dB (99,99999 % efficiency). Effective against 5G!
MCF5 is a magnetic field shielding foil, made from an amorphous cobalt alloy. It is ideal for shielding low-frequency magnetic alternating fields, electric alternating fields (LF), and high-frequency electromagnetic fields (HF). Since MCF5 is only 5 cm wide, it is perfectly suited for shielding smaller areas, such as in electronic devices or for cables.
No shielding of static magnetic fields possible with MCF5!
In contrast to the MCF5 shielding foil, classic MUMETALL® can shield static magnetic fields, although this effect is quite minimal with the usual foils of 0,1 mm thickness. The alloy of the MCF5 shielding foil is based on cobalt and offers better protection the more the magnetic fields are eddied. As static or permanent magnetic fields do not have any eddies, they cannot be shielded with this MCF5 shielding foil.
Compelling features of MCF5 shielding foil
MCF5 has numerous advantages compared to MUMETALL®: MUMETALL® is soft but also sensitive, and its shielding effect can quickly be lost through bending, shocks, and during processing.
In contrast, MCF5 remains flexible yet sturdy even at small bending radii. The shielding attenuation is maintained even under high mechanical stress. Furthermore, MCF5 can easily be cut with scissors.

Even if a self-adhesive version is not currently available, it is still easy to bond. We recommend the use of:
double-sided carpet tape with 50 mm
double-sided adhesive tape on larger rolls
common surface adhesive (e.g., UHU, PATTEX)
It is best to use an adhesive squeegee like our FVR10 to press the foil onto the adhesive tape or glue (thereby actively protecting against cut injuries).
Grounding of MCF5 shielding foil
Due to its conductive surface, it can be easily contacted and thus grounded for the shielding of low-frequency electric alternating fields (LF).

The shielding attenuation is regularly measured in the laboratory, HF according to ASTM D4935-10, LF magnetic field according to ASTM A698/A698M-07.

The resale of custom-cut shielding material of this performance class is either not possible or only possible with significant financial loss, and therefore legally falls under the exception to the right of withdrawal. By ordering custom-cut running meters, your right of withdrawal expires; by placing the order, you accept our cancellation terms and waive your right to return.
Fairness in Product Pricing
Surcharges for small quantities up to 3 running meters have been eliminated for reasons of transparency and fairness. The price per running meter is therefore always the same, with price advantages for larger quantities. To cover handling and packaging costs, we charge a flat fee of € 6,90 per cut.

To be able to answer your question, we must have to know more details. Please inform us about the field strength (power flux density) of the magnetic field you are measuring. And you must know that we can only shield magnetic fields from alternating fields. So if you have problems with magnetic fields from the electric DC field, we are not able to help you - we don't have DC compatible materials available.
