We live in a microwave smog from radio signals for cell phones, radio and television, radar, military surveillance, data transmission, microwave radio, radar systems and police radio, which we can hardly avoid. Unknowingly, we bring other sources of radiation such as WLAN, DECT cordless phones, smartphones, microwave ovens, baby monitors, networked household appliances and digital toys into our homes.
The danger of this new type of electromagnetic environmental pollution is based on the fact that our body’s own information system also works with electromagnetic signals – albeit at an energy level that is millions of times weaker! A growing number of scientific studies show that the greatest threat to our health comes from omnipresent and invisible electromagnetic pollution. Many health problems are linked to EMF and microwave radiation, including some types of cancer, most notably tumors in the brain, eye or ear, as well as leukemia, miscarriages, birth defects, chronic fatigue, headaches, stress, dizziness, heart problems, autism, learning disabilities, insomnia and Alzheimer’s .
The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies microwave radiation as possibly carcinogenic. Insurance companies classify microwaves, such as those emitted by WLAN, mobile phone antennas and mobile phones, in the potentially highest risk category. In April 2017, a final court decision from Italy confirmed the connection between mobile phone radiation and the development of brain tumors.
The author of this book reports on the status of worldwide research; he is Scientific Director of the International Society for Electromog Research IGEF.

About the author of “Microwaves kill silently
Actually, I never wanted to write another book. My previous books “Housing Poisons”, “Recognizing and Avoiding Cancer Toxins”, “Electrosmog – Elektrostress” were financial successes, but brought me numerous lawsuits for damages due to business damage. Industry associations and large corporations sued me through all instances; it was a matter of millions. I didn’t lose a case, but I did lose a lot of time to defend myself. The series of lawsuits began in 1984 and only ended when the Supreme Court in Vienna in 2001 dismissed a lawsuit brought against me by Telekom and allowed me to state that mobile communications are harmful to health, mutagenic and increase the risk of cancer.
The founding of the International Society for Electrosmog Research IGEF in 1990 also served the defense. We examined several thousand apartments and workplaces because those living and working there suspected that their health problems could be caused by electrosmog. The descriptions of those affected and the evaluation of the measurement results in cooperation with scientists and doctors have given the impetus for numerous research projects, the results of which I quote in this book.
After all, the state of research is now so far that microwave radiation was classified as possibly carcinogenic by the International Agency for Research on Cancer IARC in May 2011, despite considerable countermeasures by the mobile phone industry. The IARC is an institution of the World Health Organization WHO in Lyon/France. New studies now confirm that high-frequency radiation is carcinogenic to humans.

Through this book, I hope to make many people aware of the proven dangers of microwave technology and to encourage designers in the electronics industry to follow the example of their colleagues in the cell phone industry, who have managed to reduce the radiation intensity of very powerful smartphones in a short time to a thousandth of the radiation of previous mobile phones.
I was born in Memel/East Prussia in 1940 and studied economics with a degree in business administration. In 1990 I founded the International Society for Electrosmog Research IGEF, registered in England, and I have been its CEO ever since. The IGEF has set itself the task of promoting general awareness of electromagnetic pollution and of developing responsible and environmentally friendly use of electromagnetic radiation and electrical engineering.
